Supported Operating Systems

GMG Systems, Inc. KnTTools and KnTList support select Microsoft Windows operating systems as stated below.

KnTTools Basic Edition:

• Microsoft Windows 2000 Workstation or Server with SP4.
• Microsoft Windows XP with SP1, SP2 or SP3.
• Microsoft Windows 2003 Server Gold.
• Microsoft Windows 2003 Server with SP1 or SP2.
• Microsoft Windows Vista.
• Microsoft Windows Vista with SP1.
• Microsoft Windows 2008 Server.

KnTTools Basic Edition has not been tested on and may not function properly on systems that are equipped with more than 4 GiB of random access memory.

KnTTools Enterprise Edition:

• Microsoft Windows XP with SP2 or SP3.
• Microsoft Windows 2003 Server Gold.
• Microsoft Windows 2003 Server with SP1 or SP2.
• Microsoft Windows Vista.
• Microsoft Windows Vista with SP1.
• Microsoft Windows 2008 Server.

The following Microsoft operating systems are supported for evaluation and testing purposes:

• Microsoft Windows XP for x64.
• Microsoft Windows 2003 Server for x64.
• Microsoft Windows Vista for x64.
• Microsoft Windows Vista with SP1 for x64.
• Microsoft Windows 2008 Server for x64.

KnTList:

KnTList is designed to run on Microsoft Windows XP plus SP2 or later.

KnTList is designed to analyze main computer memory images acquired from the following x86 compatible Microsoft operating systems:

• Microsoft Windows 2000 with SP4.
• Microsoft Windows 2000 Server with SP4.
• Microsoft Windows XP with SP1 or SP2.
• Microsoft Windows 2003 Gold.
• Microsoft Windows 2003 with SP1 or SP2.

Both single and multiprocessor kernels are supported, as well as x86 physical address extension (PAE).  Multiprocessor PAE kernels have not been tested but may work.
